Sales & Marketing Society of the Mid-South

A little planning goes a long way… or doesn’t in the case of a Mixer that was scheduled on a night where not one, not two, but THREE other local groups were having the same kind of event!  Luckily we still had a good time at the Flying Saucer and there were enough of us in attendance that we ran up an respectable tab and met some new people!

The funniest thing of the night was how well we were received by the generous folks at the Flying Saucer. We were also fortunate to have some new prospective members to the “Sells & Marketing” Society come out, and we’re always glad to see new faces.

We had a great turnout for our mixer at the Majestic Grille tonight for our business mixer with the Memphis Business Journal. The crew from the Memphis Business Journal was there, and we saw a lot of new faces this evening.

Our monthly mixers are one new way that the SMS is trying to provide new ways for our members to meet and interact with other business professionals.  Another new member benefit are the workshops that we’re holding each month to help the community become better sales and marketing professionals.  Find out more about our next workshop here: http://bit.ly/yBggT

If you didn’t make it out for this event then make sure you keep an eye out for our next mixer on August 27th at the Flying Saucer in Downtown Memphis.  We’ll hope to have the kind of great weather in Memphis that we did this week!

Our July 15 Luncheon was a great time and featured Michael Graber, a partner from Southern Growth Studio.  Michael talked to us about the 6th “P” in marketing: Play.

His thoughts on how you now need to think about how you can ‘Play’ with your brand were insightful and thought-provoking, and Michael was an entertaining and energetic speaker. You can find out more about Southern Growth Studio and what Michael does at their website.

Join the Sales & Marketing Society as we team up with Memphis Business Journal for a Business Mixer on July 23rd from 5-7 p.m. Come downtown to the beautiful Majestic Grille and meet other Memphis professionals for some fun, networking, and cocktails.
